Protein targets without the spreadsheet

Most people make getting their protein in more complicated than it needs to be. Yes, if someone has specific goals then they would need to hit specific targets, but getting the perfect protein intake usually isn’t possible everyday. As long as you’re consistent with prioritizing protein in all of your meals you’ll for the most part be fine.
Two strategies that are relatively easy to follow to help achieve this.
- High protein breakfast. Getting a ton of protein in early in the day makes it easier to reach your target. If you skip breakfast you’re playing catchup the rest of the day. Most people skip breakfast, but a high protein breakfast is a cheat code for reaching your protein targets.
- Half your plate NEEDS to be Protein. Redistributing your macros can feel like a math equation sometimes, so an easy way to deal with this when you’re preparing your meals is to make sure half your plate is protein, a quarter is carbs, and the other quarter is fats.
A mix of both of these strategies can drastically increase your protein intake without having to become obsessed with tracking your macros.
The number isn't the hard part. The structure around the number is.
Start designing the day so the target is the natural result of the meals you actually eat.
